Welcome

Welcome to Dokdo Museum Seoul

Dokdo Museum Seoul is a new type of museum opened by the Northeast Asian History Foundation in response to the Korean people's desire for the protection of Dokdo'ssovereignty and for the education of youth.

This museum is as an educational site for the collection and the preservation of Dokdo-related materials, a scientific museum for experiencing the nature and history of Dokdo, and a 3D textbook that presents information about Dokdo in a three-dimensional format. The materials presented in this exhibition are based on research conducted in Korea over the past 60 years.

They have been largely divided into sections on history and the natural environment and exhibited in "History and the Future Zone" and "Nature Zone?? ?History and the Future Zone??begins with the film "Dokdo Dialogue" to present the 1,500 years of Dokdo history in the Pre-modern, Modern, Japanese occupation, and Post-liberation periods. "Nature Zone"presents the geography, soil, climate, seas, and ecology of Dokdo through a model of Dokdo made on a 1/120 scale. The "4D Theater" presents a virtual experience of the waterssurrounding Dokdo.

For the production of the exhibition materials, various governmental offices and related institutions, public and private broadcast companies, civil groups, and individual researchers have contributed. We hope that this exhibition will be fully utilized to experience the natural environment of Dokdo, to learn its history, and to consider what needs to be done for its future.
